Especially a big ol suv in todays climate. Maybe if you went in with the check only, in a reasonable amount. Maybe make the offer and make it clear its now or never, and mean it. Don't give them your phone number. Dealers near me like the one day drive away thing. Especially when the customer is over paying. I would of course suggest caution whenever buying a car. I would allways recomend taking your time and not rush into a deal. Remember, the dealer does this stuff all the time. The average consumer is at a competative disadvantage due to his lack of experiance. (And don't pay the "reconditioning" fee. Its usually around $150. The saleman wil point it out when he runs through the sales contract. It will say somewhere that the fee is for cleaning and polishing and detailing the car. All that is included in the CPO process) Whats the details on the car? Check out the link below, I had run across it some time ago and thought it was interesting.
