Is the car new to you? Have you heard the noise in the past? Has the AC been on? My guess would be the AC expansion valve, it sounds more like a fog horn and lasts a few seconds when the engine is shut off. Mine made noise occasionally, more often in the spring and fall. They did eventually replace it under warranty, it is a common issue but harmless. It could also be one of the other things mentioned below, all of which are normal.
