My 2005 9-5 owner's manual says 70 litres, or 18.5 US gallons. When it is on reserve, the most I have been able to put in is 60 litres, or 16 gallons, according to my records over the past six months.
This compares to 68 litres to fill up my 1999 9-5, when it is at the bottom of reserve, and I have run it down a few times and believe the numbers.
I have had the fuel gauge drop to zero and cycle back up to full, after filling up the 2005 Wagon. All these symptoms make me suspect I have the baffle problem which has been discussed here on the board. Would it make sense that the baffle is interfering with the sensor, telling me it is empty before it really is? My wife drives the 05, and the issue is her running out of gas, or not.
Regards,
CrNiFe
