Finally got around to installing the Viggen rotors I had on the front of my '03 9-5 Aero, and the matching slotted (and ventilated) rear rotors, the latter of which I picked up from the Taliferro gang. Here's the deal: the rear rotors are just factory, of course, that Nick machines the slots in; there is a definite left and right rotor based on the slot direction. With the Viggen rotors, which are straight from SAAB in Sweden, they are identical rotors, meaning that on one side the slot direction matches the rears, and on the other side, the slots are facing in the opposite direction. I thought at first that they sent me the wrong rotor, but after looking at all the pics of Viggens online, sure enough the slots face the same way on each rotor, with one side pointing forward and the other side pointing rearward. Anyone else noticed this? I'm guessing it's just a cost-savings deal for SAAB, so they don't have to keep track of two different front rotors. What do I do? I think I'm gonna call Nick and see if he can custom slot an original Aero rotor so all my slots are grooved in the same direction. Seems like the way it is now will have adverse effects on my pads. Any thoughts guys? Cheers.
