I have a 2003 Aero sedan and love it! I am impressed with the acceleration, but cannot compare it to a 9000 as I have never driven one. I drove a manual aero before buying my auto, and the manual seemed very sloppy and the car felt much less responsive to throttle input as compared to the auto box. Also, a 2002 aero has ESP, which is both traction control and stability control as standard equipment. These tranny's are known for their durability. They are Japanses made by Aisin. The 2002 is a great car, the year they made many changes to the 9-5, but for not a whole lot more, you could get into a 2003, which I could argue is the best year for the 9-5 for both mechanical and feature reasons. Just my 2 cents.
