Whinny and thud! Boy did you open a can-o-worms! ;-)
I've not had a Z-rated tire on an Aero last more than 33-35k miles (less than one year's driving for me), that being the Continental Extreme Contact. I've sampled something different every year on my Aero out of necessity, with snow tires used in winter. So far, the Contis were the best, Pirelli P6000s the worst--only lasted 18k. I was quite disappointed with the Kumho ASXs, and this year's pick is the Pirelli P Zero Nero. It's too early to tell (5-6k miles so far) how these will last.
There's no shortage of opinions out there on this board. In the meantime, make sure your rear shocks are up to snuff and rotate often.
