After doing a good drain and refill so that the fluid is nice and clean, it seems to hold up for a longer time compared to the original fill from factory which turns very black and stinky quickly.
I think the transmissions would benefit greatly if only the car makers would suggest doing a fluid change at 30K intervals instead of the 60K (at best) that they have now.
And that the fluid is drained twice with a good test drive in between, instead of the drop and drain ones that is done at many shops.
My feeling is that transmissions still to this day have a lot of particles wearing off from brand new, and as sooner you get that first batch of fluid out and replenished with new, the longer the transmission will hold up.
If the first batch is allowed to be in there until 60K and then only 3-4 quarts are drained, it have already starting to put wear on internal parts.
