Problems starting

I am having a problem with my 2001 aero (automatic). The car will start and run fine 90% of the time, but 3 times in the past three weeks I have tried to start it and the engine will crank but wont turn over. If I leave the car for about an hour and come back to try again it will turn over and run like there is no problem. This always happens when the engine is warm, never when I try to start the car first thing in the morning. I took it to my mechanic who hooked it up to the computer and checked all of the obvious things and he cant find anything wrong with it. Has anyone experienced a similar problem? Any help is greatly appreciated.
