so I expect it is the little solenoid that pushes the latch past the striker when I lock and unlock. The noise happens when I use the driver's door button, the remote key on both lock and unlock.
The tailgate is unlocked, and of course, the alarm goes off when you open it. The dashboard warning indicator is not lit, so the limit switch must be correctly set when it is close.
Any suggestions about temporary solutions are welcome - it could take me a while to get a trip to the dealer organized because I have to transfer the kids car seats to the MY99 Wagon first!
