I did the sway bar upgrade myself on my 1999 V6 SE. The front bar is a b*tch I must say. In my case, one retainer bolt sheared. To fix that, I was able to chisel off the square weld nut it was threaded into oom the subframe and use a new loose nut. That mess alone took me as much time to fix as your entire front bar replacement!
Upon close examination, I discovered the fasteners are thread forming type that are slightly triangular. That explains why the swaybar clamp bolts are always so flippin' tight... they self tap their threads.
After all that, I agree with you. The effect is great and worth the effort.
