Phone Harness Question (LONG)

Hi all.
I have just bought a 2002 95 Aero Wagon with Onstar. Had a 99 before and was able to easily intergrate a cell phone into that car in under an hour with the harness supplied by Saab. This car is a different story.
There seems to be no connector behind the dash anywhere available and I can't tell where the Onstar connects because all its cables are bundled together with a huge mass of other cables. There is one connector which was wrapped up in gauzy black mesh tape but it is either very hard, or impossible to disconnect (can send pics if you like).
I also found what appears to be a 16 pin connector in the hatch where the Onstar module is located. This connector actually has only three pins active. I have spent several hours searching the forums for a clue as to what this connector is but have had no luck. So here are my questions:
1. Anyone know what this connector is?
2. Is there a phone connector in my care? How can I find out? Will the dealer know?
3. Aside from the Triad or other splicing method - is there an easy way to integrate a car kit?
I really appreciate this site and you help.
Regards,
Leo Acosta
