99 9-5 Stumbling on acceleration when engine hot

My 99 9-5 2.3t 152,000 miles. Has a problem with stumbling or misfires when the engine is hot. I drive 50 miles ea way in moderate to heavy highway traffic every day. When the engine has cool and first warmed up the car accelerates and runs great. But when the engine is hot after about 50 minutes of highway driving, I can gradually accelerate from about 2000rpm to 3000rpm with out any problem, but if I try to quickly accelerate from 2000 to 3000 rpm the motor will stumble / misfire. I have had the check engine light cme on with a code 1300 random misfire - catalyst damaging. After carefully driving for afew days and no more misfires the check engine light goes out. Any ideas?
