I just installed my Parrot 3100 bluetooth in my 9-5 Aero Wagon last night. If you're using the same kit, then maybe the following will help:
There are essentially 6 wires on the Saab harness which you need to connect to corresponding wires on the Bluetooth kit. I used a Parrot CK 3100 which was a little confusing because it comes with about a hundred cables!
Here's how I matched them up:
Saab Harness ---------- Parrot
The following three on are on
one Parrot connector (the smaller
as I recall)
Red (12V Direct) Red (+12V Permanent)
Red/Blue (12V Ignition) Orange (+12V Memory)
Black (Ground) Black (Ground)
The following are on the larger
Parrot connector
Yellow (Mute) Yellow (Cable not connected to harness - Mute)
Grey/White (Phone Line+) Blue (Front Right Spkr +)
Blue/White (Phone Line-) Green (Front Right Spkr -)
Green (Mic Ground) Unused (I used the Parrot Mic)
Grey/Brown (Mic +) Unused (I used the Parrot Mic)
Orange (light dimmer) Unsued (I think this used to dim phone display)
I mounted the bluetooth box using double stick tape under the dash panel just beneath the steering (above the driver's footwell) There were 3 Torx screws to remove and then just pulls out after you remove the carpet.
It was fairly easy to route the Saab harness to the Onstar cable from there and hide the remaining cables behind the carpeting on the center console (to right of driver footwell).
I also removed the Onstar mic and installed the Parrot mic in its place with one of the mounting arms supplied by Parrot (the one with sticky back). To remove the overhead panel where the mic is located you must first remove the light cover and unscrew a torx screw. I then ran the mic cable under the headliner near the windshield and down the driverside A Pillar cover (which just snaps off) to the control box on the driver's side.
For the Parrot display unit, I used the L bracket with the double stick tape and mounted it so the bracket stuck to the inside left of the accessory tray beneath the seat heater switches on the left side. I ran the cable underneath the bottom of the accessory tray and left to the bluetooth control box. You lose use of half of the tray but it looks very nice and puts it within easy reach. Note: to remove the accessory tray, you must use a screwdriver to carefully pry up the bottom center of the tray and then it pops right out.
Incidentally, I removed the radio, radio cage, digital display, and the ACC to make this happen.
Wish I had some pics to post but hopefully the above will help some of you make this happen. All in all it was pretty easy and took me about an hour to complete once I knew how to match up the cables and where to install the items.
Hope this helps!
