I personally don't believe in the sludge factor. I think that it is a result of 10k+ oil changes with any type but ofcourse worse with reg oil. I have been changing oil in my 99 9-5(only had this one a few months) and 4runner(since new)(also know for sludge) with reg oil at 5-7k and plan to continue both have 140k miles. Also have a vw jetta that is about to hit 300k and have used reg oil the hole time and so far the only reason that engine has been apart is a head gasket and a had a 9k with 265. I think that most of what you will find on this board is semi to full syn users and there is nothing wrong with that at all but I just think reg is fine and semi is good. Full is just too expensive and I think changing more often then running full syn is better. But if money is no object get the full syn and run 93 oct. I'll be still use 87 and reg oil.
