Dino vs full Synthetic,... hesitant

I am about ready to place my '99 9-5, 2.3L Sport Wagon into the shop for my 60K major service. As per the owners manual I have been putting in 10w/30 dino oil since I bought it 3 years/30K ago. The intervals have been every 3k or 3 months. Now it's time for the 60K and I'm skeptical as to whether it is advisable to start using Mobil 1 0w/40 full synthetic at 5k intervals. I want to keep this car at least another 6 years until I retire. My indie says that since I am so diligent with my oil changes that the switch is not necessary. I have been reading all the posts on this board regarding this issue and for sure the majority say to use full synthetic. Am I making a time bomb by continuing to use dino or will full synthetic be a wiser choice at this stage of the game? Thanks in advance for your input.
