So, at around 48k miles, i went to the dealer and they actually had to replace a coolant pump that failed. I mentioned to them at the same time that I was having problems off-and-on with pixels going out on the SID, and I knew my warranty was coming due, so if they could fix it. He said he'd check it out, no problem. This is a SAAB dealer in Houston, by the way, so I'm sure the locals know how horrible they are.
Anyway, 2 days later I pick up the car, and on the service printout, it says that they "removed, cleaned, and replaced the SID." I didn't think much of it until the pixels started going in and out again. Now honestly, I have better things to do than go to the service department every other day to have things checked out, and I think they don't like me anyway because I came in once and said my passenger-side mirror was stuck in the "down" position from the park-assist function (I swear to god, it was stuck, wouldn't come back from angling down. I turned the car off, turned it on, tried it again, put it in and out of gear...nothing. That is, until I pulled up to the service bay and the guy started it up and it went back to normal...). But now it's getting REALLY bad...pixels are out all the time, all over the place. My "Temp" doesn't even show anymore, and I'm lucky if the arrow pointing to it shows up.
I remember seeing on the service bill that service repairs are guaranteed for 10,000 miles, with or without the 50k warranty. If I bring it back in to get replaced (like it should have from day 1), do you think they'll:
a. give me a hard time about it
b. tell me "no problem," replace it, then stick me with the bill
c. replace it and send me on my way
Thanks,
Tim
