engine ? Does your 2002 have the so-called life-time coolant (pink/orange) ? If so, you want to replace with same type of coolant in roughly 50/50 mix of coolant and (distilled) water.
Yes, you can just add (distilled) water if the coolant level isn't that far below the normal mark (i.e. half way between the high and low marks) with a cold engine. Diluting the coolant would affect the boiling and freezing points of the coolant mix but probably fine if it's just a cup or so of water.
Make sure the coolant cap is nice and tight and you are not losing coolant somewhere else.
