ACC code 8 fixed!

like many others on the forum, i recently experienced the dreaded ACC code 8 failure w/ the broken flapper shaft. after reading many posts on the board as well as buck's step by step pvc pipe repair on the saabsite, i gave it a try today [after all, it was only about 85 F and 100% humidity]. took me about 3-4 hours, only because the stepper motor was so far out of index w/ the repaired shaft. once i figured out that that was the problem, i slowly rotated the stepper shaft into the correct orientation. everything then got sorted out pretty quickly, put back together and no more code 8. changed the cabin filter as well and now the ACC works rather well. sure beats forking over $1500 to the dealer. as most have observed, having done it once, i could probably manage the next one in about an hour...
