About $400.00-800.00 is the going rate. Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Typical Price for 60K tune up?, Carolyn, Wed, 26 Jul 2006 16:24:41 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
It is also very important to get in writing what they are replacing and not, and how many quarts of fluids are used.
Some shops doesn't change the transmission fluid at all. Some just do a drop and drain exchange where you get less than half the amount of fluid replaced and some do a complete (or almost complete) fluid exchange of the transmission.
Between no transmission fluid change and a full change will make the price differ about $100.00
Some shops give you a really low price over the phone and after you have dropped off the car, they call you up and tell you the car needs a brake, coolant and transmission fluid change on top of the 60K service you agreed on.
So make sure you compare the prices to what you get as far as parts and fluids.
Just the choice of spark plugs will make the price change quite a bit. If you go with the regular NGK BCPR6 (or 7) ES plugs at $3.00 a piece or the newer NGK PFR6H-10 that Saab recommend nowadays at $12.00 a piece makes the price differ $30.00
