I very much appreciated the suggestions offered by Johnson when I installed my Motorola HF850. I can add the following thoughts. I first tried to use the integrated/onstar microphone, and in the process cut the wire on the Motorola microphone. Big mistake. When I installed the unit and placed a test call, people could barely hear me. So, that meant splicing a coaxial wire back together. I mounted the microphone on the headliner next to the rear-view mirror, ran the wire across the windshield and down the A pillar. Then I removed the fuse panel cover, and used a straightened coat hanger to push the wire from the fuse panel down to a hole right above the brake pedal. Then, I inserted the coat hanger in the hole where the ACC unit sits, down towards the same hole above the brake pedal, and pulled the microphone wire through to the bluetooth box. As Johnson says, it's pretty easy. I'm very happy with the system.
