Saab 3.0L V6 & tranny questions

I know the 3.0L V6 in the Saab is a corporate GM engine. Google searches tell me it's the same 3.0L as used in the Saturn LS and Cadillac Catera.
I'm looking for specs on this engine:
Bore, stroke, block/head material, V-degrees, compression ratio, and any other info that may be interesting about this engine. How is it's long-term reliability? Common problems? Any interesting design quirks?
Also, this engine produces 200HP in the Saab 9-5 with a low pressure turbo. What is the max pressure of this turbo? Does anyone have any pics of the turbocharger setup? Why bother with a low pressure turbo when the engine produces 200HP already in the Catera? What is the minimum fuel octane recommended for the 3.0L LPT and the 3.0L in the Catera? What was done to get the additional 200HP in the Catera WITHOUT a turbo? Has anyone modded the 3.0L V6 turbocharger to produce more boost? Are there any mods for the 3.0L V6 in general?
Basically, anything you have on the 3.0L V6, feel free to share!
Also I wonder about the trannies used in Saabs. Are they Saab-designed, or GM corporate trannies? If GM, which trannies are they?
