I took just took delivery of an 03 Aero with 23K miles. I "took a chance" and bought it from an independent dealer in TX who advertised on Auto Trader. I checked out the carfax and found it was a lease return from Colorado. The service history was pretty bare-two oil changes noted at 8K and 19K. I replaced the oil with Mobil1 about an hour after the transport truck dropped it off. I called the dealer in Colorado and he had nothing bad to report about the car.

I too struggled with the automotive press and the uninitiateds' reaction to my choice. However as a six time Alfa Romeo offender, I have been all through that many times. After four days I have replaced the tires (as anticipated); had the car washed and will be doing a detail in a week or two. I am quite impressed with the condition of the car and its performance. With only 10 months remaining of factory warranty, I continue the search to determine what aftermarket warranty I will choose. I have had my bad luck with a company in the past (WarrantyGold) which went belly up on me two weeks after my BMW factory warranty expired and left me with almost $3K of uncompensated repairs the following year.

I am looking forward to enjoying this purchase and using this site as a resource!
