A bet is a bet... Posted by CrNiFe [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Re: Is a 1999 9-5 Wagon with 150k a good bet?, spenser, Thu, 17 Aug 2006 04:56:10 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
but if you make an informed decision, based on the maintenance history and reasonable expectations for expenses, than you can probably live with it.
I picked up my 99MY 9-5 Wagon in early 2004, with 72000km on it, and now have 116000km. Regular maintenance only, with some seals replaced recently under the GMPP warranty, and a few small things which I was able to resolve with the help of the board (CPS replacement, spare DIC). We seem to have more rear tire inside edge wear under full load because of camber.
But I also leased an 05MY 9-5 Arc Wagon, with 220 HP instead of 170 in the 99, and believe or not, I prefer the older one. It looks new, runs well, gets better gas mileage, and it has WeatherBand radio!
No regrets - I knew what I was getting into, and accept that it is an older car, with quirks. If your maintenace history is clear, then it will probably stay that way.
