I've been reading thru various threads regarding AC/heating issues and error codes, and I’m not sure where my issue is at with my 2000 95 2.3T wagon. Maybe pulling off the glove box this weekend have to happen. I get codes 1 and 21 left to right respectively. I've seen on: ( http://www.saabservices.com/9-5%20ACC%20codes.htm ) that 21 is for the "recirculate motor". My symptoms are similar to others with code 8, with heat coming out of the drivers side, when it should be cool. All vents are open front and back. The symptoms are most prominent when the temperature differential inside to outside is small (< 10 degrees). When I force the system to 58, it will settle out as long as the temperature is 70. Results are variable with smaller differentials.

My local authorized service center (what a joke) wanted $1400 to fix it, and says it's a broken linkage. They might have even got my money, but for the sunroof that jammed before it could get scheduled in. They wanted $2400 to replace the sunroof rails, and offered no other options to it being stuck. Thanks to this site, I simply removed the wind guard/foil and called it a day. Oh, and $3,000 to replace the ABS pump for my intermittent TCS light coming on. It does seam to be the battery at this point.

So back to AC systems, does it seam logical to pull the glove box to investigate? Or is there something logically obvious?
