powertrain, the whole magilla. The more powerful engine (than my previous Linear) explains why Saabs have a rep for torque steer, never had to deal with that before, this car accelerates like a ... well, not like a 4 door sedan. The steering is top notch, the tranny is smarter than before, the suspension is an excellent compromise between sporty and comfy (and it handles potholes and speed bumps surprisingly well).
One area that surprises me is the debadging. My '02 had Saab on the floormats and on the doorsills; I don't see how they could have saved any money at all by eliminating this since the tooling is already made.
And I wish it still said Saab in the middle of the chrome bars in the front. The front end styling is still love/hate with me; it seems to depend greatly on how you approach the car, and the lighting.
I've decided that the paddles are a gimmick after all. The other day I was heading up Topanga Canyon and I wanted to lock out 5th because of traffic; I could have gone into M but then it would just sit in 4th, not run through 1-2-3-4 like I would have wanted. And the paddles should be activated whenever you touch them, as M. Lynch has noted it shouldn't be necessary to move the shift lever itself into M and then back out again later.
