and attach it to the top inside corner of the outside mirror. Adjust the side mirror, for the outside portion to cover/see the full lane to your left(or right for the passenger side). As you are checking your mirror for traffic, you eye the half moon mirror first. It shows the full view to that side of the car. If you see anything, you then use the outside portion of the mirror to gage distance.
I've used this process on all of my cars over the last 15+ years, just part of my normal adjustments to any car I buy. I know it sounds strange, but it actually works very well. I have probably converted 40+ people to this process, all with positive feedback.
Give it a try, inexpensive, and easy to remove and razor blade off the sticky stuff, if you don't like it!
