FACTS:
2003 9-5 Aero sedan, 81K miles, auto.
SYMPTOMS:
Speed dependent squeaking coming from the passanger side front. Sometimes the car will not squeak for 10 miles and the noise will start when warmed up and squeak all the way home, sometimes when you jerk the wheel the pitch of the squeak change and it will "go-away" only to return down the block. Had wheel bearing changed; no imporovement. Squeeak, squeeak, squeeak....after two months I have a new noise to add to the choire of me driving down the block....when I accelerate from a standstill or turn while going over a bump a noise that can be best described like wooden floors creaking.....this can be "felt" throughout the cabin, again it appears to be coming from passangers front/middle....and is quite pronounced.....not sure if they're related.
Last night after getting off the highway and looking for spots the noise was VERY loud, a metal on metal squeaking noise...carried down the block...along with the "wood creaking" from a stop...this morning I got so fed up with it I got in and started driving to my indy....quiet...nothing...no creaking no squeaking....annoyed and late for work I parked the car and hopped on the train to work.
Any thoughts? I've searched the boards and I'm at a loss.....
I have around 30-50% of pads left on front and rear....
ideas? I think the floor creak could be the bushings? but I find the squeak odd especially since it happens when the car is warmed up...and comes and goes....should I drop it off at a Saab dealership? I'm afraid I'll get a could not replicate and a bill... :(
I've had it at the indy and replaced a wheel bearing, retorqued a loose linkage arm? and aligned since then....no change....
HELP!
M
Fast forward a few months,
The squeaking is only there after the car warms up. I drive a 30 mile trip on the highway and then look for on-street parking and this is when its the worst...loud
