Returning to the Saab family

I bought my first Saab about 3 years ago. It was a '00 9-3SE. I loved that car. Other than the DIC blowing up & fighting with the dealership to cover the Cat under warranty it was a great vehicle. Unfortunately, extraordinary driving distances made me choose to give up my beloved Saab in favor of a more economical means of transportation. (I ended up with a Honda Insight & am avg'ing 63.4 MPG)
Last week the wife's '96 Rav4 died at only 125K, water & antifreeze pouring into the oil. I wasn't going to bother spending the money to get an exact diagnosis. So we decided to get her a new vehicle. After about 6 days of looking, asking questions, visiting 32+ different dealerships, spending countless hours on autotrader, test driving cars, we finally found it. A 2001 Saab 9-5 SE Wagon with 54k on the clock. After test driving it my wife fell in love with it & the price was right. We ended up getting the car for $9,400 after they gave us $1700 for our trade (the Rav).
Something I found interesting was that our new car hasn't spent all of it's time here in the USA. As a matter of fact, the dealership stamp & all of the maintenance info stamps in the user manual, point to this car being purchased & used in Germany for 2 years. The Carfax for the car shows it was imported to the US in 2003.
Just a few questions I had.
1) The car has 54,000. Should I be planning on replacing the timing belt really soon? Can an indy tell me if it already has been replaced?
2) Will there be any differences between my car that was originally from Germany and one that is from here in the US?
3) Does anyone know of a good independant SAAB mechanic near where I live in Fort Atkinson, WI? The east side of Madison or west suburbs of Milwaukee are fine.
Thanks in advance for your responses. Boy did I miss driving a SAAB!
