of independent shops in the area. There is also a reasonable dealer out in Denville (Reinertsen Saab).
I also live in Essex and I take my old 1995 9000 to Grieco Saab in Boonton (the address in the Mechanics list is incorrect but the phone number is good). I don't know how often Mike Grieco services newer Saabs, i.e. 9-5s.
There is Swedish Car Service in Bound Brook, Tibor used to own a 9-5 (4 cylinder however) so he knows the car but I don't know how often he gets to see V6 cars.
Reinertsen is not bad for regular dealer service and I have used them for my 9000 some years ago and for my wife's 2003 9-5 during warranty period.
Go to one of these places and do an oil change (about $30, yes even Reinertsen charges $30 for a dealer oil change, very reasonable and get the oil change coupon at their website) and check out the shop.
