Avoid Armen Saab like the plague.

My '03 9-5 Arc wagon developed a bad alternator bearing, so I took it to Armen Saab to have the alternator replaced under the warranty before it expired October 11th. The work seemed to be okay (I'm not a mechanic by any means). This was a couple of weeks ago. I then took my car to the indie dealer I purcahsed it from (Import Cars of West Chester) to get some new tires put on. I mentioned that Armen Saab had replaced the alternator.
When I picked my car up, the tech at Import Cars noted that there was a puncture in one of the CV boots, that the oil pressure sensor was leaking, and that it looks like they just beat the living hell out of the steering arm with a hammer instead of using a ball joint breaker tool. Sounds like Armen butchered the hell out of it.
Needless to say, I'm going to take my car back and make Armen's life miserable if they don't fix it right. I'm a little pissed that I can't trust a dealer to do warranty work.
Long story short, avoid Armen. And if you're looking for a pre-owned Saab and live in the Philadelphia area, check out Import Cars of West Chester. Michael, the owner, is the most honest and ethical guy I've ever dealt with when buying a car -- even after the sale. Their tech, Jonathon, is a Saab nut who knows his stuff and will spend hours talking to you about them. If you want a truly excellent indie shop, check them out. I hate to sound hyperbolical, but I am REALLY happy with these guys.
