Yes I would think so. the exhaust come from the front of the engine and runs under it(between the trans and the engine on the 4cly. And the cat is right close to the back of the engine then you have a flex pipe then intermediate muffler unless you have Remus exhaust. If you do not have ramps then pull the front of you car on the driveway(ofcourse in a safe area) you should be about to the slide under and inspect the cat. I don't think that is a big hazzard since it will burn off(smoke off) before it gets enough on there to catch fire, but if it is leaking would be a safe idea to get fixed.
