There are many post about the 2006 9-5, as that was a major redesign year. You will find many opinions about it, but I much prefer my 2003 over the 2006/2007. In 2006, there was no Aero model. The only thing "Aero" about the 2006 was the engine. Now, for 2007, they offer an Aero package that gives the sport seats, sport chassis, metallic interior trim, and the aero academy. Besides the newly available Aero package for 2007, the only big difference for 2007 is that the 9-5 has a 5 year, 100k warranty on the powertrain as opposed to the 4 year, 50k on the 2006. One thing to keep in mind is that dealers still have leftover 2006 models as the 2007 models are in, and I believe Saab is offering $3,000 cash back. I am not as knowledgable about the 9-3, but I do like the idea that the 2006 and 2007 9-3 Aero have that turbo 2.8 liter V6. The 2006 9-3 aero looks great, and the interior has been changed a bit for 2007 to look more like the interior of the 2006-2007 9-5. I personally prefer the interior of the 2006 9-3, as the 2007 looks much more GM inside, which is what I really hate about the 2006 and newer 9-5. I dont know if the 9-3 has gotten and better since it came out in 2003, but they have been a much, much more problematic car than the 9-5, including endless electrical gremlins. Again, you have to go for a 2007 model for the 5/100 warranty. Good luck.
