I guess they are both off warranty. I would decide if I wanted a 6 or a 4. If a 4 I'd look for another - your 03 linear doesn't sound like a well-cared-for vehicle based on your description. If you want a 6 then sounds like you found a nice one other than the lack of records. Steering wheel shifters and ESP aren't worth anything to me so those don't enter into the equation.
Watch for sludge on a 4-cyl without records - you have no idea if the oil changes were kept up and that engine is susceptible.
The 6-cyl appears to have fewer 'issues' than the 4 but hasn't got the selection of performance options available, probably is harder to DIY (4 is pretty easy), and has that 60k mile timing belt replacement cycle (Saab does the first one, but you need to pay for the tensioner and pulleys).
No comment on pricing. They're all priced high here.
