Sounds bad like a damaged or broken valve or what ever the cam lobe hit. I think you need to take the valve cover off and see what is going on inside. The valve cover should be held on with a few bolts and not too big of a deal to open up. I have had no reason to do this on any of my saabs so I tell you exactly how to do it. I would bet that it is not a gas issue. In fact gas burns period and does not matter if it is 93-87 in a saab the computer knows how to adjust the timeing in a saab. I always run 87, also have motorcycle and lawn mower and never have had bad gas or old gas issues with then sitting for the winter months.
