In my case I was replacing a mirror without autodim.
Once I removed the overhead conlsole, I could not see a harness to plug into & was unwilling to attempt removal of the plastic mounting plate to see if anything was between it and the metal roof. I was also unfamiliare with how to tap into the sunroof wiring or fasten seat belt ligh power source. So, not wanting to damage what appeared to be a lot of fragile plastic bracketry, I chopped the connector off and ran a power and ground wire down the A piller to the fuse box. Would up tying into the ignition wire with an in-line 7.5 amp fuse.
Used the red lead for power and the black for ground. Blue, green and gray wires weren't used.
Definately more than 15 minutes for me. More like a few hours elapsed time when counting trips to town for parts.
