BobC's advice is very good. Saab recommends full synthetic oil 0x40W at least every 5k. I believe the MY99 can get a new DI cassette under the recall if you have original one - original was version 3.4 at least for the MY2000. Change plugs, air and fuel filter regularly. I do air and plugs every year (12,000 mi) and fuel every 2 years (24,000 but I will swith to every year soon as I have seen a lot of fuel system (pump) problems on board) as it is an easy DIY and only costs < $100. You also should change your cabin filter. Again, I do it every year to avoid the wet socks smell. DIY $40. Get snows. I got mine, with steel rims, mounted and balanced from tirerack at a great price (Dunlops).
