My 2000 9-5 sunroof leaks. It's been a persistant problem, and will leak at various points around the around. Historically, the water has come thru the overhead light, the side pillar [flooding the 2 computers], and now, with a recent overwhelming rain in New Orleans, pillar at the rear of the door. This leads me to believe that the draining mechanism is shoddy, poorly designed, and not clogged, as it s the heavy rains that get it.
Does anyone have knowledge of:
1. I was told only one rear drain per side. true?
2. How to "clean/clear the drain", other than drip water in. [the pan-to-drain transition is, far back, under the
3. Where does water go, at the two rear holes.
3a. What does the drain tube look like
4. How [engineering-wise] is the drain tube attached to the rear of the 'pan'
All these questions because when they did a full tear down at the dealer, in the days pre-Katrina when it existed, on the first computer killing leak, I asked to see what was causing the leak [first claims were that I failed to clear the front-middle drain in front of the windshield]; and they didn't let me, by neglecting to tell me they were doing it.
So...any clues...??? Pictures. Tempted to tear out a corner at the duct/pan junction and duct tape it....
Also..could water, previously entered, cause the air flow diverter to fail to divert to the leg area? This no longer works, a recent thing, and reminiscent of my long gone peugot. Air only to console and windshield.
Thanks....looking forward to comments...
