Search on coolant. You will find all sorts of hits.

I believe in 2001 the original fill would have still been SAAB/BASF G-48. Check your owners manual. This was a blue in color (although simply being blue doesn't mean necessarily mean it is G-48).

If your topping up you really want to keep it compatible. Problem is it is hard to say what is in there now. The original many have been flushed and replaced with something else. If it is blue and has always been Saab dealer maintained good chance (but no assurance) it is SAAB/BASF G-48. If you can't find G-48 spec coolant (pretty much need to visit Saab or dealer for another European brand that uses it) Zerex/BASF G-05 purportedly is safe to mix and is also an excellent coolant with properties very close to G-48. G-05 is generally yellow and can readily be found at many auto parts stores. BTW when people speak of MB coolant G-05 is generally the spec they are referring.

What you don't want to do is mix DexCool and either of the above. Later SAABs have DexCool and the original (even if G-48) many have been replaced with this. DexCool is generally a pinkish color (but again color doesn't assure you of anything depending on source).
