Did you get a CEL indicating converter failure, or just dramatic loss of power occuring over a long period of time?
My 2000 lpt with 187,400 miles is no where near as quick off the line as it used to be. Having limited experience with a 1992 Chevy Beretta which we purchased with a partially blocked converter (unknown to us) and later became fullly blocked, I have often wondered if my loss of power in the 9-5 is indicative of a gradually plugging converter.
Others tell me to wait until I get a CEL, but why dirive with poor performance until then? The engine just seems slow to build boost, as if something is obstructing the turbo flow.
