V-6 oil runs cooler than 4 cylinder models

While I strongly encourage at least a 40 weight oil for 4 cylinder 9-5s and '00-'02 9-3s, the V-6 features an oil-to-water heat exchanger. This lets the oil warm more quickly during startup and keeps the oil temperature cooler. I think therefore that 5W30 or 10W30 would be acceptable. Also the V-6 hasn't demonstrated the same tendency for oil sludge as the 4 cylinder cars have shown, so one needn't be as fanatical about the choice of brand. Do stick with the "severe service" 5000 mile change interval for peace of mind.
