ACC Code 13 & Stepping Motor

Although by no means an expert I now know things about my ACC system that I didn't just a few days ago.
We noticed that we couldn't direct air flow to the floor or windshield - only through the dash vents. This board helped with directions to check for codes. Came up with code 13 - jammed air distribution flap.
Almost every search on this code related to a blend door problem - a temperature problem, not my symptom.
Found the procedure to pull the glove box to access the air distribution stepping motor. Discovered that there are three of these beasties, two for temp (driver and passenger) and one for air routing.
Turned out my flaps were not jammed as the code indicated. The stepping motor was only stepping in one direction, which kept the flap permanently pointing to the dash vents.
Have an order in at eEuroparts. Noticed while searching that someone scored a motor (new) on EBay late last year for $2. No such luck for me.
Hopefully there's not also a $200 repair part for a blend door failure in my future.
