The reason for removing the pan is I want to se if there is sludge in it. I bought the car three months ago from an indy car dealer. I was able to talk to the previous owner who owned the car since new and put 75k miles on it. He said he had the oil changed every 3k miles since it was a turbo at an indy shop. Hopefully that will be a good thing. If I put a flush in it first I won't be able to tell what is sludge and what is oil because the flush will disolve the sludge. If I don't see sludge in the bottom of the pan or on the pickup screen without using a sludge flush first then that will be good. After I put it all back together I will then flush it just in case.
