Well, on the way home tonight, had an accident with my 04 Aero SW. Roads were getting a bit dicey in spots with blowing snow and temp in the teens. Since my Nordfrosts are getting near the end of their useful life I wasn't doing anything wild and crazy. I came up behind a Ford Focus and we were doing fine until we came to a patch of road that was totally snow-covered. With no one in front of him and no one coming the other way, his reaction was to get on the brakes. Predictably, he got it sideways in front of me and I couldn't stop before punting him in the passenger-side door. Could have just kept going and called it a "racing incident", but I did the right thing and stopped to assess the damage. His door and rear quarter were pushed in, and the front of the Saab showed no damage. Will have to check closer in the daylight, but at the most it looks like all it sustained was some paint damage. The other driver was shaken and said "it was nobody's fault", etc. Since it was me that hit him, I didn't want to tell him that if he would have just stayed off the brakes and driven through it he wouldn't have gone sideways. Guess it was my fault for not anticipating the other driver's inability to drive in snow.

Just had to vent. Thanks.
