did it have the 60k service? Posted by bobc [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: My new 9-5, NickF, Wed, 7 Feb 2007 04:46:18 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
if not you will want to do that, off the top of my head it includes :
- flush brake hydraulics
- flush coolant
- automatic? if so flush the trans fluid
- serp belt
- cabin air filter
- air filter
- plugs
- fuel filter
- oil change
in addition to that I would do:
- change the pulleys
- buy a coolant bypass valve to have ready (mine blew at 59k)
- buy a CPS to have ready (mine still ok)
- replace the head bolts (they were improperly torqued at the factory)
- tighten the connections on the rear of the starter (tend to be loose)
- tighten the transmission cooler fittings. (tend to be loose)
- flush PS fluid
- PVC update #6
all this stuff is easily done. I did it over the course of 2 weekends. (4 or 5 hrs total ... I'm slow)
You are right, the mayo is condensation. drive more! and faster too :-)
Seriously though, if you are doing lots of short trips consider it "severe service" and adjust your oil change interval accordingly.
my car is also an '01 with ~58k on it when I bought it, ~70k now. it had a similar service history to you, and FWIW here are pics of the head
welcome, and post some pics of your car!
