Ok I need new tires for my 2001 V6 sedan. I ruined my Falken Ziex 512's a couple weeks ago getting up my hill in the snow (the fronts have no tread left at all). The backs still look new. Based on Consumer Reports I have narrowed it down to two options. Any other recommendations are welcome though. Dunlop SP Sport 5000 and the Goodyear Assurance TripleTreads. The Dunlops were in the Performance All-Season category and the Goodyears were in the Regular All-Seasons. Both are about the same price. I cannot afford to have a dedicated set of winter tires so the all-seasons I get need to be somewhat decent in the snow. I can't imagine anything could get much worse than the Falkens I have right now. For now I think I am just going to replace the fronts because the Falkens on the back look fine, unless that's a terrible idea? The Dunlops seem to have better handling/braking performance, but the Goodyears have better snow traction. Does anyone have experience with either of the tires? Thanks in advance.
