G'Day Everyone,

I'm having an intermittent problem with the brakes on a '00 Aero Wagon when reversing from the driveway in the morning. Brakes seem to hardly engage (even standing on pedal), however handbrake does pull the car up. The drive is on a slight incline, and this has happened to my wife 3 or 4 times now, once almost leaving her rolling back into oncoming traffic. My first experience was this morning. The brakes are okay (although nothing special) during normal driving, and the car has been recently serviced (with trusted mechanics), where no brake wear etc was reported. I'd like to go back to the mechanics, or brake specialists, with some hints from you guys if you have any to help them.
