A Saab dealer should be able to pull the dealer service record based on VIN (at least, can do that here in Canada). That at least can tell you what services were performed at dealer.
Latest PCV update #6 is not yet a year old. Look at the oil filler tube - if it has a brass fitting on the side a couple inches below the top it's not the latest update - the latest one has a molded in plastic fitting.
(NOTE: There MAY be older updates that have a molded plastic fitting as well so the appearance of the molded fitting is no guarantee of the latest update).
You can sludge-inspect by removing the valve cover for a quick check, or dropping the oil pan for a thorough inspection/cleaning, or just rooting around in the bottom of the pan with a piece of wire through the drain plug next time you have it drained.
If it were my car and the waterpump was making a little noise, I'd make sure I had a waterpump etc. on hand right away just in case, but I'd hold off changing it till 120k when the car is due for new serpentine belt and pulleys anyways.
