As a first time Saab owner, I wanted to share my first 100 days in my 2006 95...
First month, car had a problem going over bumps. It made a weird noise which the dealer fixed and related to some part (used for shipping overseas) they didn't take out of the front suspension. Problem fixed.
Still in the first month, I find that the CD player does not work. I take it to Saab and they confirm the CD does not work and will order the part. I come back a week later, they replace the radio, but in the process they gouge my dash prying out my old radio...
Now into month 3, they finally have the replacement dash from Sweden and I am hoping they will replace tomorrow. It took 2 months for them to get the part. I'm crossing my fingers that there won't be any further problems with this. It will be my 4th trip to the dealer for repairs in 100 days. What a pain in the rear.
Is this the type of customer service I can expect from Saab? For those Saab owners in the Tri-State NY/NJ/CT area, what dealers have good service and who are some potential indepedent mechanics I can use?
Overall, the car is solid and I especially enjoy the performance of the turbo when I need to pass on the highway. I wish some mannerism (higher road noise at idle, lots of squeeks warming up the car, and internal temperature controls) were more refined. Never the less, I'm looking forward to owning the car a long, LONG time.
