9-5 Aero Auto Tranny Slipping

Funny thing happened today,
After about half an hour of stop and go driving in hilly urban setting, tranny refused to pull in forward, reverse, manual or low. It was slipping badly and threw check tranny and check engine lights, would not reset. Pulled into a parking lot, tried again - massive slippage. Waited half an hour, tried ten restarts but the lights stayed on, although the tranny seemed to latch up and move the car now. Checked fluid at correct level, although severely dirty. Think I'd be okay with a flush and fluid/filter change, or is this starting to happen to other 04's with 35K on them? 3K ago I told the dealer that it has been shifting a little strange and feeling laggier than when new, and they suggested a $174 fluid change, but the fluid seemed clean. Think saab will pay for a flush as I had it towed under roadside assistance to the dealer and it is still under warranty?
