9-5 SE 3.0 DIC , replace both or one at the shop?

I've never had to replace a direct ignition cassette on my 9-5 SE 3.0, but right around the 95,000 mile mark, I think my luck has finally run out. The car puttered around with a rough idle for a while and I swore I'd get to looking at it, but after a week or so, she has become almost undrivable and today I smelled something similar to burning plastic and upon opening my hood saw a puff of white smoke waft up from the visible direct ignition cassette.
The question becomes, do I buy two myself and replace them both for around $365 plus my time or should I take it in to the shop where they quoted me $312 including parts and labor to replace one after testing which is bad? I think I could handle the repairs easily enough, but I'll gladly save the $53 if there isn't any point in replacing both.
What does the board think?
I may be able to borrow a car for a few days while I wait for the parts to come in. If not, I'd have to rent a car and my value equation would look a little different since I could have it in and out of the shop this afternoon.
Thanks for the opinions!
